POLITICAL SCIENCE
” Political power is that power which every man has naturally in the state of nature.” – John Locke
The Politics Department at Latymer is deeply committed to the belief that studying Politics is essential for the intellectual and social growth of our students. We provide opportunities for students to explore key issues that drive political discussions both in Britain and globally.
The Politics Curriculum at Moonstone aims to:
- Encourage curiosity about the world and the role of power in it.
- Engage students in debates on controversial issues and fresh ideas.
- Foster an appreciation for diverse viewpoints and open-mindedness.
- Extend political interest beyond the classroom through forums, podcasts, and the History Society.
- Promote cross-departmental connections where relevant.
- Build skills in oratory and essay writing.
- Develop critical thinkers who can assess arguments from multiple angles.
- Inspire confidence and passion in students pursuing Politics at university.
